[ VOLUME — [√∞ / ∞]×2 WHY'D I DO ]
CHAPTER  24 – LONG FORGOTTEN

[Dick hums into the microphone like he's checking if it survived a broadcast-induced stroke, then takes a deep breath]

“You know, gremlins…
I was just thinking.
We’re telling a story about real people.

Actual, living idiots
from our beautifully broken little galaxy.

And everything you’re hearing?
It happened.

A long time ago, sure—
but this isn’t legend, not rumors, not Reddick™ trash.”

[He gives it a beat—just enough for it to sink in]

“The problem is—most of you don’t give a damn about news.

You don’t know shit
beyond what’s happening in your backyard
or whatever garbage is trending on TikTalk™ or Instagrim™.

But me?

I’m old school.

I care about everything:

  • galactic politics,
  • economics,
  • court cases,
  • shadow markets,
  • crime networks,
  • classified archives…

I even read the articles you skip—
because they don’t have naked people
or loud scandals in them.”

[He exhales slowly]

“So let me tell you something that hit me
right as I was reading the last lines…

Something long forgotten.

Something you would’ve never found on your own.

KANZAKI ARC FOUNDATION™.

Yeah.

A name that only exists now in:

Wiki archives,
Shadow Crime Committee records,
and court files…

that nobody opens anymore.

Because one very angry android—
listed in those documents as Kairelin
wiped the entire syndicate off the map.

Back in the day, KAF was a serious operation.

Disguised as an industrial holding.

In reality?

Oh… they were into everything:

  • black tech trade,
  • biological smuggling,
  • weapons,
  • nukes,
  • drugs,
  • prototypes…

and of course—
their favorite hobby:
playing god without a license.”

[His words carried more weight this time]

“So listen up, you gremlins:

Kairelin… is Zeros.
That’s not a theory anymore.
That’s a hundred percent confirmed.
That ass-loving Aelor literally said “Kairelin” while all up in his business.

And the thing he was so carefully hiding
from that walking brain malfunction—Blindy…

shows up in the files like this:

Internal Darkatron Compression Core—IDCC

Honestly?

I have no damn idea what a Darkatron is.

I’m not even sure anyone in their right mind
is supposed to understand it.

But it sounds…
dangerous as hell.”

[He leans into the word so hard listeners can almost feel it vibrate]

“And I’ll tell you this—

whatever it is…

only the Aelori could’ve made something like that.

There’s nobody else in the galaxy
that twisted and that brilliant.”

[A slow, almost boring pause]

“And that’s all your wise, magnificent, incomparable…

and slightly drunk
Dick Melody

has decided to share with you
on this fine evening.”

[Jackie looked at Dick the way someone looks when they already have the answer—
that quiet, steady gaze that says: you had your moment, old man… now it's mine.
Dick caught it, blinked rapidly—
like his internal system tried to reboot but couldn't figure out what exactly was about to happen]

“Uh… Jackie?
You wanna… add something?”
